Locked Out of a Company Vehicle

Locked Out of a Company Vehicle

Dit artikel gaat over autosloten en autosleutels. De juiste aanpak hangt af van de situatie, het type slot en de vraag of er sprake is van spoed of een veiligheidsrisico.

Veilig beginnen

First check that the spare key is available and that the vehicle is safely parked. Do not force a door, ignition lock or car key: modern vehicles can suffer electronic and mechanical damage.

• Note whether the door or car is open or closed.
• Take a photo of the lock, hardware or key if it is safe to do so.
• Do not use force, and do not drill or use glue without professional advice.
• Confirm whether you are the owner, tenant, property manager or driver.

Choosing the right help

Een autoslotenmaker beoordeelt het merk, model, slot en de situatie. Vraag vooraf welke handelingen nodig zijn en of programmeren, een nieuwe sleutel of alleen openen nodig is.

Also read the relevant Correct Locksmith service and ask about the work, choice of materials and total cost before work begins.

Checklist for your situation

1. Describe the problem as precisely as possible.
2. State the time and any damage.
3. Ask whether repair is possible before replacement is proposed.
4. Keep the invoice and check the description of the work.

Frequently asked question

Can I fix this myself?

A simple visual check or trying a spare key may sometimes be possible yourself. Stop as soon as you encounter resistance, damage or a safety risk. Professional help is wiser when you are locked out, the lock is defective or you are unsure about security.
